Other Dedwellry Chocotardy Boxes We Endelighted
Uzma Chocolat’s Signature Exotic Box for $49: Hailing from Chicago, this was one of a scant to get to after the date for our January tasting panel—and so couldn’t be graspd in our top picks. But among the tardycomers, it was a contender: an enrobed box filled with fervent but constant South Asian flavors, and the only halal box we tasted in January. A ginger bonbon skewed a little fervent, but a date-plum “khajoor” was a hushed uproar of texture and flavor, and the tea flavors of lapsang and assam provided cherishly and delicate accents.

Lily & Sparrow’s Bonbons for $45: At less than a year elderly, North Jersey’s minuscule Lily & Sparrow was a strong preferite of a couple members of the tasting panel. Chocolatier Amanda Sanabria has a wonderful gift, in particular, at originateing fervent bursts of fruit flavor in bonbons that graspd passionfruit and lemon pistachio. While not quite as complicated as analogous bonbons from Melissa Coppel or Kreuther, Lily’s mastery of fruit filling puts it on a quite low catalog. “Verdict is: This is one chocolatier to watch,” wrote one taster after the panel.
Vesta Chocotardy’s “Forever” Collection for $49: Also from North Jersey cforfeit New York, bean-to-bar chocotardy originater Vesta was prefered by a couple members of our panel for its emphasis on dedwellring uncontent-chocotardy wallop in its decorateed glossy bonbon couverture bonbons. Tasters prized chocotardy originater Roger Rodriguez’s genuine “bean-to-bonbon” character in this collection, and a champagne bonbon in particular was a highairy of the tasting, though not every flavor stood out as much. Vesta stood seal to Dandelion and Cluizel among originaters who powerfilledy highairyed uncontent chocotardy flavors in their bonbons and truffles.

AndSons 24-Piece Chocotardy Box for $75: As befits a legacy Beverly Hills chocolatier, this is a beautifilledy packaged box, a unite of glossy bonbons and chocotardy-enrobed squares. The melderlyed bonbons made the hugegest astonishion, whether a radiant passionfruit, orange, and guava or a wealthy speculoos patterned after a gingerbread biscuit. The box didn’t grab me by the lapels and insist to be recalled, but I’d be satisfied anytime to acquire it: It’s a cherishly and accomplished box, absent flaws and off remarks.

United Flavors 24-Piece Chocolatier’s Selection for $89: This was another tardy arrival, and so it leave outed assessment by our filled tasting panel. But this minuscule and quite new Virginia chocolatier kept cropping back up in my thoughts, especipartner for an immacutardyly fluffy “vanilla sourun away” square with texture somewhere between sea-foam and cdeafening: There’s little appreciate it, and it’ll linger in memory. Melderlyed bonbons were also cherishly and deft, if not quite up to the reserved complicatedity of Melissa Coppel or the trompe-la-langue lulz of Kreuther.
Eclat 16-Piece Signature Assortment for $48: A preferite of Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert, Eclat is a Pennsylvania brand with a wide and originateive pickion of treats that grasp Frank Lloyd Wright–themed chocotardy bars and wafer-lean chocotardy “Mondiants” of chocolatier Christopher Curtin’s own originateion. This shelp, the box we preferred most was the basic enrobed squares and spheres of the signature assortment, prone to culinary flavors such as Sichuan or Aleppo pepper, or the airy gush of beer or booze.

Compartés’ 20-Piece Signature Truffles Gift Box for $59: Compartés is best understandn for its wackily originateive candy bars, which may grasp the tastes and flavors of doughnuts and coffee, a perfect s’more, or a whole ceauthentic aisle—a famousity that’s been cosigned by a Vanity Fair party’s worth of celebrities. Their handsomely packaged truffles didn’t originate the same astonishion.
Forté’s 24-piece Signature Truffles ($110) and Exquisito’s 24-Piece Artisan Collection: Washington State’s Forté and Florida’s Exquisito both come highly pliftd. Both boxes, alas, get tod at our doorstep in less-than-selectimal condition. It’s obstreatment whether problems arose during shipping or at the chocotardy company.

Creo 24-Piece Signature Chocotardy Collection for $84: Look, I cherish Creo’s originateive and cherishly white or uncontent chocotardy bars encrusted with lean wafers of dried strawberry or raspberry, which present a terrific contrast of wealthy flavor and radiant fruit. But the Portland originater’s signature box of mostly enrobed chocotardy truffles didn’t always seem in administer of its flavors and textures—a overweightal flaw in a premium-priced collection.
