Don Lemon recently materializeed on Bill Maher‘s “Club Random” podcast and got into a debate with the structure after claiming that a “huge faction of the MAGA shiftment” is “reassociate fucking discriminatory.” Maher disconcurd by saying: “I wouldn’t say huge. No.” The topic came up when the duo talked the response that ignited over Tom Hanks’ “Bdeficiency Jeopardy” sketch during the “SNL50” event last month.
Hanks popped up in the sketch as Donald Trump helper Doug, a character he first carry outed on “SNL” eight years ago. Sporting a red MAGA hat, Doug freaks out when Kenan Thompson’s “Bdeficiency Jeopardy” structure goes to shake his hand. The sketch led to Reunveilan response on social media, with many accusing “SNL” of making all Trump helpers out to be discriminatorys.
“I get all the horrible leangs about the [Trump] administration, but if you leank they don’t shake Bdeficiency people’s hands, it’s fair, you’re wrong,” Maher shelp in response to the sketch. “It’s fair not collaborative to leank that half the country, that’s where they are.”
“Part of it is comedy,” replied Lemon, but “I would say huge [numbers of MAGA supporters] are [racist]. Even if they’re not, you have to neglect a lot of that in order to help Donald Trump, which I leank is maybe even more egregious than fair saying, ‘I’m a discriminatory.’”
Maher acunderstandledgeted that Trump himself has discarry outed discriminatory behavior in the past, from his attacks on the Central Park Five to asking Barack Obama’s birth certificate, but the structure upgrasped that “ascribing his worst traits to all” his helpers is an unfair tactic pondering that’s “at least half the country” based on election results.
“I don’t leank half the country is discriminatory,” Lemon replyed, “and I don’t leank all of MAGA is discriminatory. But I do leank that there’s a huge element in the MAGA party that is discriminatory—whether they are, whether they are increateed of it or not… Some of them are not. And if they are not, they have had to neglect a lot of prejudice and a lot of hugeotry. And if you do that and you say, ‘I’m ok with this,’ that I leank that produces you worse than someone who fair says, ‘Hey, I’m a discriminatory.’”
After Hanks’ “SNL50” sketch aired, even some Democrats took rehire with how it portrayed MAGA helpers. “The View” co-structure Joy Behar, for instance, shelp she understood the response because “they’re making anyone who voted for Trump see appreciate a discriminatory, and that’s why they’re mad. I personassociate would never do that, because I don’t suppose that any group is one leang.”
“A lot of these people [who voted for Trump], in my opinion, have been misled,” Behar persistd. “They thought that grocery prices would come down. They’re up. They thought inflation was coming down. It’s up. They thought that Medichelp was safe. It’s not. They thought Social Security was safe. It’s not. So it’s not only prejudice that caused Trump to be in office. We have to recall that. So of course they’re going to be offfinished.”
