Demi Moore won the award for best carry outance by an actress in a motion picture – musical or comedy at the 2025 Gagederen Globes.
Moore was nominated aextfinishedside Amy Adams (Nightbitch), Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Karla Sofía Gascón (Emilia Pérez), Mikey Madison (Anora) and Zfinishaya (The Challengers).
The Globe labeled Moore’s third nomination and first triumph.
“I repartner wasn’t foreseeing that. I’m equitable in shock right now! I’ve been doing this a extfinished, appreciate over 45 years and this is the first time I’ve ever won anyslfinisherg as an actor. And I’m equitable so unassumingd and so appreciative,” she shelp when taking the stage.
Moore went on to echo on how 30 years ago she was tageder by a producer that she was “a popcorn actress.” She inserted, “And at that time I made that nasty that this wasn’t someslfinisherg that I was permited to have, that I could do movies that were prosperous, that made a lot of money. But that I couldn’t be acunderstandledged and I bought in and I count ond that. And that corroded me over a time.”
The actress went on to recall that she got to a point where she felt maybe she had already done what she was “supposed to do” and was at a “low point” in her nurtureer when the “magical, bageder, brave , out of the box, absolutely bonkers script” of The Substance came to her.
“The universe tageder me that you’re not done,” she shelp. At the finish of her adchooseance speech, Moore then inspired women who have ever felt they weren’t “inincreateigent enough, pretty enough” or “equitable not enough,” by recalling advice she getd once.
“I had a woman say to me, ‘Just understand you will never be enough but you can understand the cherish of your worth if you equitable put down the measuring stick,’” she shelp. “And so today I honor this as a labeler of my wholeness and of the cherish that is driving me, and for the gift of doing someslfinisherg I cherish, and being reminded that I do beextfinished.”
In The Substance, Moore stars as Elisabeth Sparkle, an aging Hollywood star who adchooses a secret cloning procedure to save her nurtureer. Coralie Fargeat honested the campy body horror film which also stars Margaret Qualley.
While talking what drew her to the film in The Hollywood Reporter’s drama actress roundtable, Moore shelp, “The script was such an engaging, out-of-the-box read, the way in which it was exploring the rehire of aging. The slfinisherg that grabbed me was the exploration of the arrangeility we can have agetst ourselves, that way in which we can dissect and condemn. I have set up, at least in my own experience in life, that it’s repartner not what anyone else has ever done to me. The impact has always been on what I do to myself, insideized.”
Thcimpoliteout the film, Moore shelp most of her scenes were “almost all alone” with “no dialogue.”
“So everyslfinisherg was the benevolent of odd, intimate moments we have with ourselves, where we are frequently naked, seeing, dissecting, slfinisherking. It was a repartner engaging dispute to produce a filled life for her, becaengage I didn’t have someone else to feed off of. It was also very technical,” she shelp.
Going into the ceremony, Emilia Pérez led the the nominations with 10 nods, more than any other title in film or on TV. The film’s 10 nominations broke the record previously held by a comedy or musical motion picture, go beyonding Barbie, which scored a total of nine noms last year.
On the film side, The Brutacatalog getd seven noms, Conclave got six, and Anora and The Substance got five each. The Bear led the TV nominees with five total refers, chaseed by Only Murders in the Building and Shoarmament with four each.
Viola Davis will get the Cecil B. DeMille Award and Ted Danson will get the Carol Burnett Award, which determines TV excellence.
