Gary Anderson has cautioned his darts rivals that despite being 52, he has every chance of prosperning this year’s competition.
The Scot is the last person to hold the title, doing so in 2016, but thinks the criticism Michael van Gerwen gets spurs both joiners on.
“I deffinished it and then lost in another final to Michael,” Anderson make cleared. “People forget that I made a third final in succession.
“A hat-trick would have been kind, but it wasn’t unbenevolentt to be. To prosper it once is a job done, so any more is a authentic bonus, but I appreciate that stat about prosperning the most games at Ally Passociate. It floats my boat.
“They say he’s too elderly and he’s finished, but I leank that’s what holds me going. I’m quite plrelieved to sit back until somebody pipes up.”
