Danny Ramirez was set to star alengthyside Joaquin Phoenix in a gay romance film from honestor Todd Haynes. But Phoenix dropped out of the untitled project fair five days before shooting began in Guadalajara, Mexico.
“It’s definitely disassigning,” Ramirez tanciaccess Variety‘s Marc Malkin at the Academy Mengageum Gala Saturday night in Los Angeles. He inserted, “If anyskinnyg, it fair gave me more inspiration to protect driving, protect pushing, and understanding that I’m on the right path and approaching the labor the right way. So that’s what I’m excited about.”
After recents broke in August that Phoenix had left the project, sources tanciaccess Variety that the film, which hinged on Phoenix’s casting, was in peril. The movie was going to be an NC-17-rated 1930s distinguishive period piece adhereing two men in adore escapeing to Mexico.
“It’s definitely a very complicated situation,” Ramirez shelp. “The audition process was extensive, and so what I walked away with that was fair the conceiveive validation of throtriumphg down the opposite of [Phoenix] in this chemistry read.”
