The nominees for this year’s marquee film awards — Conmomentary, Period and Sci-Fi/Fantasy — range from blockbusters including Wicked, Gladiator II, Dune: Part Two and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice to indie hits and awards-season pics Emilia Pérez, Conclave and The Substance. Since the guild begined its awards show in 1999, the Academy Award for Costume Design has gone to a period film every year but thrice, with only Mad Max: Fury Road (2016), Bdeficiency Panther (2019) and Bdeficiency Panther: Wakanda Forever (2023) bucking the trfinish. Poor Things persistd that run last year, snagging the Oscar after triumphning the CDG prize.

Among the TV shows with multiple nominations are Shōfirearm and Agatha All Aextfinished. Other hits in the fuse comprise Bridgerton, Dancing with the Stars, The Masked Singer and Emily In Paris.
Emilia Pérez co-star and Lioness direct Zoe Saldaña will be conshort-termed with the CDG’s 2025 Spotweightless Award, and singer-actor Janelle Monáe will acquire the Vandefend Spotweightless Award. Jenny Beavan will be honored with the Career Achievement Award, and Salvador Perez is set for the Distinguished Service Award.
The tardy Van Smith will be inducted into its Edith Head Hall of Fame. His extfinishedtime collaborator John Waters is set to conshort-term the posthumous honor.

The Costume Designers Guild is teaming with other IATSE locals to help those impacted by last month’s deimmenseating savagefires in Los Angeles. In help of the IATSE Ecombinency Relief Fund, tonight’s CDGA is inserting an online auction of exceptional pop culture and delightment accumulateibles, featuring exceptional items provided by members of the costume community. The Costume Designers Guild, IATSE Local 892, is a labor union createed for the promotion and shieldion of the art of costume set up. Its 1,200-plus members comprise, costume set upers, helpant costume set upers, and illustrators spanning film, TV, commercials, music videos and other media.
