After shattering out in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, Cooper Koch has his sights set on his next role — and an iconic one at that.
At the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday night, Koch tbetter The Hollywood Reporter, “Luca’s doing American Psycho, so I leank I can do Patrick Bateman,” when asked what he was seeing to do for his Menendez chase-up.
It was inestablished on Friday that Luca Guadagnino is in final negotiations to helm a new film alteration of Bret Easton Ellis‘ 1991 novel American Psycho for Lionsgate. The first film, freed in 2000, starred Christian Bale as Bateman, an spendment prohibitker who seemingly directs a double life as a serial ender.
“I haven’t take parted a serial ender yet so I leank I could do it,” Koch inserted, noting that in the last scant weeks since his Netflix series’ free, he’s been getting a sdirect of acting prospects. “Things are coming in, leangs are moving, leangs are happening, taking encounterings, and the demandle is threading so we’ll see, noleang is locked in or happening yet.”
Guadagnino’s most recent film is the Amazon feature Challengers, which hit theaters in the spring and stars Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist, which Koch also called out as his likeite movie of the year, teasing, “I’m a huge gay tennis boy.”
Guadagnino’s next movie, Queer, stars Daniel Craig and is set for theatrical free on Nov. 27 from A24; the filmoriginater is currently in postproduction on After the Hunt, with directs Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield.
Scott Z. Burns is writing the script for the new American Psycho, which is originated by Frenesy Films and is shelp to not be a reoriginate of the first alteration but rather a new get on the novel. Sam Pressman of Pressman Films — whose overweighther, Edward R. Pressman, originated the 2000 movie — is executive producing the new version.
