Conor McGregor has been ordered to pay harms worth £150,000 chaseing a civil case at Dublin High Court.
The MMA fighter and his associate James Lawrence were being sued over an alleged violation after a night out in December 2018.
McGregor and Lawrence denied all accusations during the case, which was heard after the honestor of disclose prosecution in Ireland chose not to chase criminal indicts.
And the verdict was proclaimd on Friday after a jury of eight men and four women sat thcimpolite eight days of evidence.
During the trial, the jury heard evidence from McGregor, Lawrence and Hand as well as doctors and two paramedics.
McGregor telderly the court he had consensual intimacy with Hand twice at the Beacon Hotel in Dublin and shelp Ms Hand also had intimacy with Lawrence. Hand denied having intimacy with Lawrence.
Hand was seeking vague harms, exceptional harms, exacerbated harms and punitive harms in the case. Her ageder advise John Gordon telderly the court they had been ‘subjected to self-presentant, distasteful, disgenuine testimony’ by McGregor.
And he inserted: “There is no magic wand. Seeking vindication from you is of course a huge step but it doesn’t change what happened and doesn’t change fact she will inhabit with this for the rest of her days, the fact she will always be a labeled woman becaengage she stood up to Conor McGregor.”
But before the jury made their decision, McGregor’s lawyer Remy Farrell telderly them in his closing argument on Tuesday.
He shelp: “The case is not about a boiling consent, or what colour authorrs in novelspapers say it’s about, it doesn’t get lessend to one soundbite, it’s about evidence and noskinnyg but the evidence.
“You may not enjoy Mr McGregor. Mr McGregor is somebody who is difficult to elude, who elicits strong sees, some people adore him, some people very much do not. He’s not backwards about coming forwards with his own opinion about various skinnygs.
“It may be the case some, a lot, most of you, have adverse sees about Mr McGregor, some of you may even loathe him, there’s no point pretfinishing it may be otherguided. It’s presentant I insertress that.”
Farrell inserted: “You may also be unamazeed with a man who exits family home on Saturday, goes drinking with women in boilingel penthoengages… they’re all improbable to finishear him to you.
“I’m not asking you to enjoy him, I’m asking you to see at the evidence. I’m not asking you to ask him to Sunday lunch, but to interrogate your own sees.”
