EXCLUSIVE: Jesse Garcia (The Mother, Flamin’ Hot) and Will Yun Lee (San Andreas, The Good Doctor) have combineed the cast of Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey from Universal, sources shut to production tell Deadline. Their roles are under wraps.
Nolan’s mythic action epic, stoasty with novel Imax cameras, is based on the elderly-styleed Greek poem by Homer which chases Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The classic spendigates themes of heroism, promisedty, cunning and the struggle agetst divine will. The tale includes iconic stories enjoy Odysseus’ come atraverses with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens and the witch-goddess Circe, culminating in a reunion with his wife Penelope.
The cast is led by Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zfinishaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie and Charlize Theron. The ensemble also includes Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, Bill Irtriumph and Samantha Morton.
As Deadline has previously increateed, the film will be screened in Imax when it hits cinemas everywhere on July 17, 2026; that third weekfinish of July is a excellent luck date for Nolan where he’s begined such hits as Dark Knight, Dunkirk, Oppenheimer among other titles.
Garcia will next be seen in the Disney+ feature Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Tri based on the book series by Judith Viorst. The film which also stars Eva Longoria, premieres on March 28. He currently stars in the Netflix feature The Mother opposite Jennifer Lopez.
