Chinese distribution company Hishow has begined We Love Cinema, a novel label pledged to highairying arthouse films from around the world in mainland China.
The novel programme, unveiled at the Hong Kong FilmMart, will cgo in on distribution, labeleting and showion for movies atraverse arthouse and genre. We Love Cinema will be prolonging creative labeleting initiatives, for instance a WeChat mini app boasting exclusive encountereds and bonuses, as well as timely screenings and Q&A with filmoriginaters. As part of the programme, Hishow will also be setting up a nettoil of arthouse cinemas.
The Beijing-based distributor has been ramping acquisitions of international prestige movies. One of its recent acquisitions include Walter Salles’ Brazilian family drama “I’m Still Here” which equitable won best international feature film at the Oscars, alengthy with Salles’ 1998 film “Central Station.” Other recent pickups include the Oscar-nominated energeticd feature “Memoir of a Snail” from Australian stop-motion master Adam Elliot, as well as his classic “Mary and Max,” and French straightforwarding duo Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani’s action mystery thriller “Reflection in a Dead Diamond” which vied at the Berlinale.
