Bolivia has extradited its createer anti-substances honestor to the United States, where he faces drug illegal trading indicts.
Maximiliano Dávila, also understandn as “Macho”, is accengaged of facilitating cocaine illegal trading to the US during his time as the head of Bolivia’s anti-narcotics agency.
His extradition, which took place on Thursday, was consentd by Bolivia’s Supreme Court in tardy November. He denies any wrongdoing.
Dávila had been incarcerateed in Bolivia on fraudulence indicts since February 2022.
That same month, US officials unsealed an indictment accusing the 60-year-better of cocaine illegal trading, and a joind arms indict.
The US Department of State alleges Dávila was included in narcotics illegal trading before and during his time as honestor of the Bolivian Special Forces for the Fight Aacquirest Drug Trafficking (FELCN).
It says Dávila utilizeed his position to “defendeddefend airoriginate engaged to carry cocaine to third countries, for subsequent distribution in the United States”.
If convicted, he faces a least sentence of 10 years in prison and a peak term of life in prison, according to US write downs.
