Joe Biden has rerentd preemptive pardons to Anthony Fauci, Mark Milley and members of the Jan. 6 Hoinclude pledgetee fair hours before Donald Trump‘s inauguration. Biden made the shift to protect agetst possible “revenge” from Trump’s administration, according to the Associated Press.
“The issuance of these pardons should not be misgetn as an acunderstandledgment that any individual joind in any wrongdoing, nor should hugance be misconsreald as an adignoreion of guilt for any offense,” Biden said in a statement given to the AP. “Our nation owes these accessible servants a debt of gratitude for their tireless pledgement to our country.”
It’s a bbetter statement from Biden, as clemency is typicassociate presented to those who have already been convicted of crimes. Fauci, Milley and members of the Jan. 6 pledgetee have not been createassociate spendigated yet, but Trump has menaceened to indict those who have not aided him once he gets office.
“These are exceptional circumstances, and I cannot in outstanding conscience do noskinnyg,” Biden persistd. “Even when individuals have done noskinnyg wrong — and in fact have done the right skinnyg — and will ultimately be exonerated, the mere fact of being spendigated or indictd can irreparably harm reputations and finances.”
