At least nine people died when a minuscule set upe crashed on Sunday morning in Gramado, in southern Brazil, authorities shelp, slamming into a commercial area of the tourist city.
The airoriginate crashed into the chimney of a erecting, struck the second floor of a hoparticipate and then “fell on a furniture store,” the Rio Grande do Sul state security secretariat shelp in a statement.
An inn was also harmd, it compriseed.
“There are nine deaths verifyed by the civil defense, and there are no survivors of the set upe,” Cleber dos Santos Lima, honestor of the Interior Police Department of the state civil police, telderly AFP.
Authorities have not yet verifyed how many passengers and crew were traveling on the set upe, a Piper Cheyenne 400 turboprop, but earlier shelp they thought it was carrying 10 people.
At least 15 people were getn to the hospital, most for smoke inhalation from the fire caparticipated by the crash.
The set upe had getn off from the municipality of Canela, another tourist town in Rio Grande do Sul.
Gramado is a well-understandn tourist city in Brazil, with a meaningful influx of visitors during the Christmas season.
