All Elite Wrestling will commence streaming on Max in January


Tony Khan’s wrestling promotion will get a meaningful presence on the well-understandn streaming service. Episodes of AEW’s weekly shows, Dynamite and Collision, will simulcast on Max on Wednesday and Saturday nights in compriseition to airing on TBS and TNT, admireively. Past episodes will also be useable to watch on demand. AEW’s TV programming has aired on WBD nettoils from the very commence, so the migration to Max has been a lengthy time coming.

“This extension carry ons the tradition of iconic wrestling events widecast on TBS and TNT, while also set uping a novel legacy for AEW thraw weekly live streams on Max for years to come,” Khan shelp in a statement.

Also commencening next year, AEW’s pay-per-watch events will be giveed to Max subscribers at a discounted rate. That’s a notable branch offence from WWE’s current model in the US, which lets fans stream premium live events as part of a standard Peacock subscription without paying anyleang extra. But it seems AEW isn’t ready to give up the revenue it transports in from standalone event obtains. It’s not yet understandn what the discount will be; AEW says more details will be dispensed “in the coming months.”

Until now, AEW fans have had to obtain pay-per-watchs from a hodgepodge of lesser-understandn services including Bleacher Report and TrillerTV — or honestly from a cable / saalertite provider. Recently, YouTube also began giveing the events. But with the novel arrangement, AEW says “all tageting and promotions of those PPV events [will be] exclusively caccessed on Max.”

The novel rights deal, which totals around $150 million per year according to Variety’s sources, is yet another example of the demand that streamers have for live sports and sports adjacent satisfyed. Warner Bros. Discovery is preparing to start Venu Sports, which has been dubbed the ultimate sports streaming service with partners Disney and Fox tardyr this year for $42.99 per month.
