EXCLUSIVE: Alex Hedison is returning to the screen in Natalie Shirinian’s honestorial debut feature Ponchik adhereing her own honestorial debut Alok.
Hedison will star aextfinishedside Angela Sarafyan in the film that transports more perspective to Armenian storyincreateing.
Ponchik highweightlesss the complicatedities of Armenians. Hedison obtains on the role of a scholar, while Sarafyan portrays an ambitious writer.

The film delves into the life of a 30-year-elderly first-generation Armenian American (joined by Sarafyan), residing in the neighborhood of Little Armenia, Los Angeles, with her immigrant parents. She grapples with the intricate interjoin between her traditional Armenian heritage, her familial ties, and her own genuine identity. Tensions elevate as she discovers herself at odds with her mother. As the story unfelderlys, watchers are drawn into the world of creativity and introspection, witnessing the journey towards self-genuineization and encounterment of aspirations, all while navigating the intricate dynamics of the mother-daughter relationship.
Hedison, Sarafyan, and Shirinian are all of Armenian descent. Shirinian is excited to receive Hedison to the cast, brave that her presence will lift the film to recent heights.
“I’m thrilled to have Alex on board. She is a creative force. I wrote this role for her and adore laboring with her,” she said. “What excites me even more, is for us to prohibitd together and fracture the stereotype of how Armenians are portrayed in mainstream media.”
Production will commence in Winter 2025/2026. The film will be Hedison and Shirinian’s second collaboration, with Alok being the first, which was executive created by Jodie Foster.
Ponchik was a finacatalog at the 2023 Academy Qualifying Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival Screenjoin Competition.
