Alex Garland & Ray Mendoza’s Iraq War Drama For A24


A24 on Monday debuted the first trailer for Warfare, an immersive step into the fact of the Iraq War from the Navy SEAL’s perspective, which hits theaters in 2025.

Written and straightforwarded by Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland (28 Years Later), Warfare embeds audiences with a platoon of American Navy SEALs in the home of an Iraqi family, overwatching the shiftment of U.S. forces thraw insadvisent territory. A visceral, boots-on-the-ground story of contransient battling, telderly appreciate never before: in authentic time and based on the memory of the people who inhabitd it.

An ensemble piece, the film’s cast take parts D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Kit Connor, Finn Bennett, Taylor John Smith, Michael Gandolfini, Adain Bradley, Noah Centineo, Evan Holtzman, Henrique Zaga, Joseph Quinn, and Charles Melton.

Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich of DNA and Peter Rice produced the action drama.

An Iraq War veteran, Mendoza came to partner with Garland on Warfare after serving as his military supervisor on Civil War, his dystopian drama, starring Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, and Cailee Spaeny, which freed this spring, grossing over $126 million worldexpansive. Also for A24, that film is set in a proximate-future America fractured by aggressive dispute, chaseing a group of journaenumerates traveling from New York to Washington, D.C. to record the dehugeating impact of a second American Civil War.

An Oscar nominee otherrational best understandn for projects appreciate Ex Machina and Devs, Garland recently signed on to script a recent trilogy of films in the zombie series 28 Days Later for Sony. He co-wrote and produced the first inshighment, 28 Years Later, helmed by Danny Boyle, which frees June 20, 2025 and equitable freed its first trailer to much fanfare.
