Albania has proclaimd a ban on TikTok for one year after the finishing of a teenager last month liftd worrys over the impact of social media on children.

The ban of the famous video app will come into effect punctual next year, Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Saturday after greeting with parents groups and guideers from apass the country.

“For one year, we’ll be endly shutting it down for everyone. There will be no TikTok in Albania,” Rama said.

Rama has condemnd TikTok in particular for fuelling aggression among youth in and outside school.

The opposition has declineed the regulatement’s decision to ban the app.

“The dictatorial decision to shut the social media platcreate TikTok … is a grave act aacquirest freedom of speech and democracy,” said Ina Zhupa, a lawproducer from the main opposition Democratic Party.

“It is a uncontaminated electoral act and mistreatment of power to suppress freedoms.”
