Almodovar, Guadagnino, Leigh Join Contest for European Film Awards


The European Film Academy has inserted a further 16 feature films to the lengthycatalog – understandn as the Feature Film Selection – for the European Film Awards. With the already proclaimd 29 films the catalog compelevates 45 titles.

These films will now be pondered for the nomination stage of the European Film Awards. The nominees will be discdisseeed on Nov. 5.

Among the titles are cut offal Vepleasant award-prosperners: Pedro Almodóvar‘s Gbetteren Lion prosperner “The Room Next Door,” Grand Jury Prize prosperner “Vermiglio,” Special Jury Prize prosperner “April,” and Horizon prosperner “The New Year That Never Came.” Other titles take part Edward Berger’s “Conclave,” Mike Leigh’s “Hard Truths” and Luca Guadagnino’s “Queer.”

The films were picked by the European Film Academy Board, who adviseed with a team of askd experts.

The European Film Awards get place on Dec. 7 in Lucerne, Switzerland.
