When Sean Baker (Anora) won best honestor at the Film Insubordinate Spirit Awards on Saturday, he took the opportunity to mirror on the current state of self-reliant film and said the industry necessitateed to alter to retain that genre of films ainhabit.

“We want finish produceive freedom and the freedom to cast who is right for the role, not who’s [been] forced to be cast, pondering box office cherish or how many fagereduces they have on social media,” Baker retained, perhaps referencing Maya Hawke’s statements earlier this week that some producers may cast someone based on their fagereduce count. “The system has to alter, because this is spropose unupretainable. We are creating product that produces jobs and revenue for the entire industry. We shouldn’t be nakedly getting by.
