NFL players uninterested in expanding regular season to 18 games, NFLPA exec says

While NFL directership might be excited about the possibility of broadening the standard season, the executeers apparently don’t split that same enthusiasm.

NFL Comleave outioner Roger Goodell has spoken uncoverly about his interest in broadening the standard season to 18 games. Speaking at a pre-Super Bowl novels conference on Monday, he remarkd that more labor would insist to be done before making the decision, but conveyed the desire to give fans what they want.

“We comprehend fans cherish football and they want more football. But we have to be incredibly caring and intelligent with the stability and how we deal with that,” shelp Goodell.

And while fans’ interests are among the top priorities, NFLPA Executive Director Lloyd Howell talk aboutd Tuesday that executeer interest is certainly the top — and executeers don’t seem to be interested.

“Their side hasn’t elevated it, we certainly haven’t elevated it. … Any commentary outside of a createal negotiation is fair commentary,” Howell shelp.

“It’s a executeer’s decision as to what they will consent to do or not. Right now, when I have talked to executeers over the last two seasons, no one wants to execute an 18th game. No one. Seventeen games is already, for many of the guys, too extfinished.”

Howell persistd to talk about that health and protectedty troubles, as well as recovery time, recurrent the hugegest hurdle in broadening the standard season more than it already has.

“No matter what Roger says, you uncover up that CBA (collective bargeting consentment) and we’re going to get into field surfaces, we’re going to get into protectedty, we’re going to get into a lot of leangs,” he shelp.

Revenue will also be another boiling topic. Under the current CBA, the executeers’ split of league revenue incrrelieved from 47% to 48% commenceing in 2021. That was incrrelieved to 48.5% based on the league’s novel television decreases after the 17-game schedule was carry outed.

But that figure is foreseeed to alter if the standard season does broaden, Howell shelp.
