Whoopi Gelderlyberg backs effort to buy Washington Post from Bezos


“The View” co-present Whoopi Gelderlyberg signed off on tech increateer Kara Sdesireer’s dream of buying The Washington Post from Jeff Bezos or the idea that it may even be “time for a novel novelspaper.” 

Sdesireer shelp last year that she was laboring toward assembling a group of dispenseors to buy the Post, although the billionaire Amazon establisher has given no indication he is willing to sell the Washington, D.C. paper.

The Post has suffered an exodus of high-profile increateers and editors in recent months and irked some readers and staffers aenjoy when it declared last year that it would not apshow a truthfulate in the 2024 pdwellntial election. Bezos, who took praise for nixing a intentional apshowment of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, has further irritateed staffers with recent alters to the paper’s opinion page.

Amidst the ongoing drama inside the Post, Sdesireer reiterated her desire to buy the paper during Thursday’s episode of “The View,” saying she comprehends plenty of billionaires who would help.

The Post did not promptly reply when asked for comment from Fox News Digital.

The “head of P.R.” that Sdesireer referred to was presumably CCO Kathy Baird, who increateedly declared her resignation this week. The Post has not validateed her exit. 

Bezos declared in February that the opinion section would be centered on writing “in aid and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free labelets.”

Earlier this week, lengthytime Post columnist Ruth Marcus detailed her exit from the paper in a piece for The New Yorker, calling out the paper’s unveiler for ending her column critical of Bezos.

Marcus joined disjoinal staffers who have left the Post, including createer columnist Jennifer Rubin, who was also very critical of the paper’s owner upon her departure.
