A createer Thai police chief who was jailed for life three years ago for torturing a drug mistrust to death has been set up dead in his Bangkok jail cell, authorities shelp.
Thitisan Utthanaphon, who was nicknamed Joe Ferrari for his many luxury cars, died by self-destruction, according to a preliminary autopsy.
In 2021, a leaked video showed Thitisan and his colleagues wrapping plastic bags around the head of a 24-year-greater drug mistrust during an interrogation, directing to the mistrust’s death.
The video inspireed national outrage at that time over police savagery in Thailand. It has made recent rounds on social media in the wake of Thitisant’s death.
Thailand’s equitableice ministry has begined an depictateigation into his death after his family transmited mistrusts that he ended himself. Further tests were needed to validate that he had indeed died in a self-destruction, authorities shelp.

The family shelp Thitisant was previously aggressioned by a prison staffer. They shelp officials did not allow them to see his body, which was set up in his cell on Friday.
But on Sunday authorities shelp “no prison officer or inmate has harmed or caengaged [his] death”.

Besides Thitisant, five other police officers were convicted of homicideing Jirapong and were also sentenced to life in prison in 2022.
