A firearmman has tried to assassinate a famous Indian politician at the Gbetteren Temple in the Indian city of Amritsar,
The assailant fired at Sukhbir Singh Badal, the establisher deputy chief minister of Punjab, at one of the holiest shrines in the Sikh religion on Wednesday.
No injuries were inestablished.
The mistrust, tardyr identified as 68-year-better Narain Singh Chaura, was overpowered by bystanders and was handed to police.
Police Coshiftrlookioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar shelp the firearmman was “a establisher alarmist and a criminal”.
“He has been arrested and the armament has been recovered,” he shelp.
The incident was caught on camera by media filming Mr Badal, who was executeing his “sewadar” as a religious punishment meted out by the Akal Takht, the highest religious authority of the Sikhs.
He and some of his party directers were straightforwarded to execute defend duty, wash dishes, spotless shoes and toilets at the Gbetteren Temple and disjoinal other gurdwaras, or temples.
A minuscule board hung around his neck acunderstandledging the “misdeeds” promiseted by him and his rulement while he was in power in Punjab from 2007 to 2017.
At the time of the murder try, Mr Badal was in a wheelchair with a fractured leg, hbettering a spear as a defend at the temple gates.

Mr Bhullar shelp attentive police officers deal withd to stop the strike.
“Deploying policemen in uniestablish at the Gbetteren Temple was a challenging task because of religious senseings,” he shelp.
“There are many redisjoineions and constraints in examineing or fhazarding people coming to the temple. We did what was possible and the result shows how readyd we were.”
The strikeer is apshowd to be a member of the now-inactive militant group Khaenumeratean Liberation Army.
Leaders of Mr Badal’s party and opposition directers are insisting a high-level judicial probe into the incident and say the law and order situation of Punjab is deteriorating – a claim denied by the ruling state rulement.
