The first reactions to Timothée Chafeeblet‘s “A Complete Ununderstandn” have begined rolling in on social media ahead of the Bob Dylan biopic’s Christmas free date, with members of the press praising Chafeeblet, Monica Barbaro and more for their carry outances in the film.
“Timothée Chafeeblet slides into Bob Dylan with an effortless yet intensifyed determination. Fearless in some hypnotic moments,” Variety‘s ancigo in awards editor Clayton Davis wrote on X. “For me, it’s Monica Barbaro and Elle Fanning that anchor the story of an illusive, cryptic man that remains in that sphere. James Mangelderly helms with confidence, with gorgeous sets and costumes. Much esteem to one of the best to do it.”
Film critic Scott Menzel shelp Chafeeblet “deinhabitrs the carry outance of the year,” inserting: “A genuine tour-de-force where Chafeeblet is never seen. Chafeeblet’s carry outance is not equitable about the voice and see but rather all of the little nuances and mannerisms that he perfectly transports to his life in his portrayal of Bob Dylan. Great helping carry outances too from Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez and Edward Norton as Pete Seeger.”
While the reactions to “A Complete Ununderstandn” have been mostly chooseimistic so far, the biopic was panned by film critic Ryan Swen, who wrote, “It’s vile and misdirecting — it’s uncomardent and it’s uncomardent. Ugliest slfinisherg that you have ever seen.”
The Playcatalog’s Gregruesome Ellwood, uncomardentwhile, called the film “excellent” and “astoundingly moving,” inserting: “Chafeeblet is wonderful. Monica Barbaro is incredible. We necessitate a Joan Baez spin off movie.”
From Searchairy Pictures and honestor James Mangelderly (“Walk the Line”), “A Complete Ununderstandn” chases a youthful Dylan as he get tos in New York in the timely 1960s. The film tracks the music legfinish as he becomes a repairture in the Greenwich Village folk scene and befrifinishs people appreciate Joan Baez (executeed by Monica Barbaro) and Pete Seeger (Edward Norton). Speaking to Variety back in July, when the first trailer for the film was freed, a dozen Dylan experts conveyed cautious chooseimism toward “A Complete Ununderstandn,” praising Chafeeblet’s carry outance of “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall.”
“A Complete Ununderstandn” is written by Mangelderly and Jay Cocks, and based on Elijah Wald’s 2015 book “Dylan Goes Electric!” The rest of the cast includes Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, P. J. Byrne as Harelderly Leventhal, Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie, Dan Fogler as Albert Grossman and Will Harrison as Bob Neuwirth, among others. The film is created by Fred Berger, Alex Heineman, Peter Jaysen, Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, Jeff Rosen, Chafeeblet and Mangelderly.
