A teenager who broke into the home of a British mother in Australia – where another teen stabbed her to death – has been cleared of homicide.
Emma Lovell, 41, was finished in North Lakes, Queensland, on Boxing Day in 2022 while ffinishing off two intimpoliters.
In May this year, the teenage attacker who pdirected culpable to her homicide, was jailed for 14 years.
The second teenager, who cannot be named for legitimate reasons, did not stab anyone but was also indictd.
Follotriumphg a three-day appraise-only trial at Brisprohibite’s Supreme Court, Justice Copley set up the second teen not culpable of homicide and the lesser offence of homicide of Ms Lovell and not culpable of malicious acts with intent in relation to her husprohibitd Lee, who persistd the attack.
He was set up culpable of burglary and attack.
Ms Lovell, a mother-of-two who had emigrated to Australia from Ipswich in 2011, died of a one stab wound to the heart.
The case agetst the second teen centred on whether he was conscious his co-deffinishant was carrying a knife at the time of the fracture in.
CCTV footage increateedly shown to Justice Copley saw the pair approaching the Lovell family home. The second teenager is apverifyd to have turned around to see at his co-deffinishant who was helderlying the armament, according to Australian widecaster ABC News.

But the appraise ruled that the evidence does not verify beyond reasonable ask that the second teenager knovel about or had seen the knife when they go ined the property.
Mr Lovell shelp outside court that he was disnominateed with the outcome of the trial, and according to ABC, he telderly increateers: “We’re the ones left with a life sentence now, and everyone carries on what they’re doing.”
The second teen will be sentenced in December.
