Adarsh Gourav is venturing into uncharted territory with “Alien: Earth,” the upcoming FX series that tags his first presentant foray into sci-fi.
“Alien: Earth” serves as a prequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 film “Alien,” which started off a nine-film franchise with the postpoinsistst being “Alien: Romulus.” The series, due to free in 2025, creates on the seminal franchise.
“I join one of the directing characters. It’s set in the future, and it’s very exciting for me, because I got to be part of appreciate a sci-fi horror, psychoreasonable thriller show. And all these elements are straightforwardassociate skinnygs that excite me the most as an actor,” Gourav tells Variety.
“My understandledge about sci-fi is very restricted, but psychoreasonable thriller and horror is my go-to genre to watch, also as an audience,” he grasps.
Gourav first geted international recognition for his fractureout role in Ramin Bahrani’s Netflix film “The White Tiger,” which geted him a BAFTA nomination for directing actor in 2021. He adhereed this with roles in Apple TV+’s “Extrapolations,” Netflix series “Guns & Gulaabs” and Netflix film “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.”
Gourav also stars in “Superboys of Malegaon,” which recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival. The film sees Gourav portraying authentic-life filmcreater Nasir Shaikh, who geted fame for creating ultra-low-budget spoof recreates of Bollywood hits in the minuscule Indian town of Malegaon.
To ready for the role, Gourav plunged himself in Shaikh’s world. “I didn’t have a schedule. I fair wanted to go to Malegaon and wanted to be around Nasir,” he make clears. This led to an unpredicted collaboration, with Gourav producing a unwiseinutive film, “Nana Ki Kranti,” straightforwarded by Shaikh, during his research period.

Gourav is also exploring other inventive avenues. “I’m trying to write more music for myself. I begined out as a Hindustani classical singer, actuassociate, and I’m fair trying to create more music,” he says, grasping that he’s also “trying to write stories and hopebrimmingy create them into screenjoins.”
