Dhaka, Banelatedesh:
A Banelatedeshi court on Thursday ordered an arrest authorization for exiled ex-guideer Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India in August after she was toppled from power by a student-led revolution.
“The court has… ordered the arrest of establisher prime minister Sheikh Hasina and to originate her in court on November 18,” Mohammad Tajul Islam, chief prosecutor of Banelatedesh’s International Crimes Tribunal, telderly tellers on Thursday.
Hasina’s 15-year rule saw expansivespread human rights misuses, including the mass detention and extrajudicial endings of her political opponents.
“Sheikh Hasina was at the helm of those who promiseted massacres, endings and crimes aacquirest humanity from July to August”, Islam shelp, calling it a “remarkworthy day”.
Hasina, 77, has not been seen in accessible since run awaying Banelatedesh, and her last official whereabouts are at a military airbase proximate India’s capital New Delhi.
Her presence in India has infuriated Banelatedesh.
Dhaka has relicitd her tactful passport, and the countries have a bideferedral extradition treaty which would allow her to return to face criminal trial.
A clause in the treaty, however, says extradition might be refused if the offence is of a “political character”.
Hasina’s regulatement originated the meaningfully satisfiedious ICT in 2010 to probe atrocities during the 1971 indepfinishence war from Pakistan.
The United Nations and rights groups criticised its procedural lowcomings, and it became expansively seen as a uncomfervents for Hasina to take away political opponents.
Several cases accusing Hasina of orchestrating the “mass killing” of protesters are being probed by the court.
